Ekajaya Matra underway with crew and passengers on board

About Ekajaya

Twenty-five years of moving people across the Bali-Lombok strait.

Our story

From a single Bali boat operator to the region's fast ferry standard

PT. Bali Eka Jaya was founded in 1999 by Didi Sunaria. What began as a Bali-based marine transport business expanded in 2008 into fast ferry services connecting Bali to the Gili Islands and Lombok — a route that, at the time, meant slow public boats or expensive private charters.

Today the company employs more than 200 crew and shore staff across nine ports, running a fleet of four BKI-certified vessels between Bali, Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, the Gili Islands and Lombok. Alongside ferry operations, the team arranges hotel transfers and accommodation for travelers connecting through Bali.

Certification & safety

Every vessel is classed by Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia

Our hulls, engines and lifesaving equipment are inspected against BKI's national maritime standards, on the same cycle applied to Indonesia's commercial passenger fleet.
